Nicolas Saenz specializes in forensic engineering, litigation support, and emergency response at Thornton Tomasetti. His expertise spans failure investigations, root cause analyses, remedial design for existing buildings, and engineering analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures. Nicolas evaluates structural systems and building envelopes, including roofs, façades, and glazing systems, to help owners, insurers, attorneys, and project teams determine the origin, cause, and extent of damage and evaluate risk. His investigations include storm-related building damage assessments, structural collapses, and causation analyses for commercial and multifamily properties damaged by hurricanes, tornadoes, explosions, severe weather, flooding, fire, earthquake, and other natural and man-made hazards. Following major catastrophe events, Nicolas has led investigation teams across Florida, the Gulf Coast, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
